Hi there

I've got GBPVR up and running with a PVR-150MCE. The remote works fine controlling GBPVR but it won't send channels to the STB.

I've configured a profile in the config, and pressed buttons 0 - 9 on my STB remote as it asks but it doesn't send anything to the STB when I change channel. I can see the little LED on the blaster doesn't flash so it's not even sending the channel. If I run Windows Media Center on the same machine it works fine.

Am I missing something. I've checked every single button in the config and am sure I've configured absolutely everything but it's just not working. Have I missed a step somewhere?

Any help much appreciated. BTW the STB is a Sky Digibox Smile

You should use HIP and the '.exe channel changer' instead of the built in 'MCE IR Blaster' channel changer. See http://gbpvr.com/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Tips/...rdware.HIP (just the IR Blaster bits of this page)

Hi there. I can't make head nor tail of this guide, and it's difficult to know which parts to follow and which not to follow.

Has anyone got an easier guide anywhere?

Too much hassle I think. I was going to donate to the project if it could save me buying an OEM copy of Windows XP MCE but it's not gonna work I reckon and even this HIP software is throwing errors at me.

Thanks for trying to help anyway.

Fair enough. Tons on other users are using HIP without any problems though.

Hi again. I decided to perservere Wink

The problem with HIP I'm having is that I'm trying to go through the section where you train the program for your STB remote control.

Problem is on the little screen when it instructs you to press a button on your remote it says it 'timed out' within about half a second so I've got no idea what I'm supposed to press and I don't have any time to press it.

Is this a common problem??

I'd try asking about HIP over here, they have a link to a support section at dvbowners.com.

I successfully use HIP after following that guide sub linked, but it is a little out of date and I had to flail around a little to figure out what to do. I am definitely in the dark when it comes to HIP, I'm lucky it basically worked out of the box for me. I haven't seen the problem you described. All I can think of is making sure your remote is very close to the sensor while it tries to learn your codes.

My only suggestion is to keep plugging away until you get it to work. I think it is worth it; it is nice that GB-PVR can change channels on my satellite receiver.

Yes, actually. The Beanbag and the IR Blaster that come with the Hauppage version of the MCE remote caused me nothing but grief. I ended up getting the Stand alone MCE remote for about 50 CAD... A world of difference...

As far as HIP goes, no pain, no gain Big Grin

We all have different levels of 'comfortable' with installing new software and reading manuals. I believe from your post that you did read the correct part of the guide, and that you were stumped from the hardware failure on the part of the beanbag. I noticed for myself that only one of the Beanbag's ports for the blasters worked. You might want to try changing ports...

Also, be sure to use the alternate driver as specified in the HIP Guide...
