Perhaps obvious but I didn't see it listed, so ...

Ripping MP3's from the CD's to the music folder would be nice too.

Why not just setup your favorite windows app that does this in the config app under the directories tab, custom tasks. Then run the rippers whenever you need them.

Yes, I agree that a ripper app would be good. Hopefully someone take this on as a plugin. I may in future, but I've got prenty of other things I have to do first.

CodeMonkey, remember that alot of user (XCARD/PVR350/MVP) cant see windows apps via their playback devices so they would need a more integrated solution.

Yeah I keep forgetting that. Just seems un-natural to me to not want to access windows too like via a wireless keyboard/mouse for web surfing etc. To each his own [Image: smile.gif]

Either you have a 60" plasma screen, or better than 20:20 vision!! [Image: biggrin.gif]

I have a 32" widescreen, and I can't read a #### thing on the screen from my Radeon's TV out.

Cheers,
Andy

The cd/mp3 plugin could be implemented by using the lame DLL or by writing a C# wrapper around the lame.exe command (assuming C# can exec() a command).

The latter should be fairly straight forward, then it can be migrated over to using the DLL at a later stage?

Colin.

I have a 32" non-widescreen and don't have any issues reading the screen. Not that I would do any coding that way, or use Word mind you. But running a CD ripper or IE is no problem.

I still don't see the need (OK, I'm thick [Image: smile.gif] ), but if someone wants to do a gbpvr native cd ripper, here is a good place to start.  This project is open source, rips CDs and stores as MP3's.  All you would have to do is replace the UI with one in GDI+ and port the rest of the code to fit as a gbpvr plugin.  Oh, and release the source I believe because of GPL.

I suppose you could put the destination directory and CD drive info in the config.  Then automatically name the files something to avoid constant need of a keyboard.

Have fun!
