Has anyone got any REAL insight on the difference between the ATI and Omega drivers??? No fan-boyism please Big Grin
is the picture quality better? Are there any new options that I would actually use (and no, I dont want to add another 10Hz to the clock speed)? Are they stable? Why do they exist?

In my experience with them (I have used both), the Omega drivers are more flexible when it comes to tweaking, but the tweaks and reghacks they allow are really more for gaming to extract the absolute most possible speed from the GPU. I didn't notice any differences in picture quality between the two, nor any difference in cpu uage. I also have a 3Ghz machine, so I can't speak for a machine that is considerably slower. Give each a try and see how they react to your machine, they are pretty easy to install/uninstall to try each out.

Omega drivers in the past did something funky to the TV part of the card.
Sometimes my TV would not be recognized.
I went back to ATI & had no problems.

The Omega drivers are definately tweaked for gaming and sacrifice eye-candy for performance. The level of sacrifice, though, I'm unsure of.
