Think that was a little unfair Sub. It's gone 1am here in the U.K. and I'm over-tired due to lack of sleep due to stress. I'm happy enough with determening what file extension a recorded file is (right-click right?). I've followed the Wiki as best as I can and, considering that I was following a step-by-step guide from PCA magazine that did not explain how to set-up the GB-PVR application I've managed O.K. What I was asking (but did not put this across properly at a guess) was where in GB-PVR config or web-interface config can settings like this be checked?.

O.K. fair comment. Shall try vlc and do some more searching on this forum. Think that someone did post some settings for use with vlc so shall try to follow that.
File types are showing as 'Microsoft Recorded TV Show'. Rather than trying to put me off the GB-PVR application by suggesting this is not the app for me due to the question that was asked help on determining the file format would be appreciated. I've spend hours and hours perservering with this project and congratulate you on how powerful it is. Please bear in mind that not everyone is fully up to speed as you are. As a GB-PVR newbie I'm certainly not up to speed with the config and all of the features of GB-PVR but am keen to learn. Keep up the good work.
