Okay, I have
<PreferAlternatingCaptureSources>true</PreferAlternatingCaptureSources>
set.
I have pre-padding and post-padding set at 1 and 3.
When I record two shows on the same channel, that air in sequence, I'd like them to record on different tuners. This way they can both get their time padded. The reason is I often save weeks of a series up before I watch it, deleting as I go. I have found I had pull up other recordings to find the beginning or ends of other recordings. The padding would have taken care of this, if the padding had occurred. Again, this has only been an issue for me when I record two programs on the same channel that air in sequence.
I thought that setting the alternating capture source to true would make this happen, but it appears that the recording still takes place on a single tuner, without the pad between the recordings.
It would also work if when setting up a recording you could assign which tuner to use. Then I could make sure they use different tuners, which should make the padding minutes work out.
