If I was more knowledgeable on GBPVR, I would volunteer to do this.

I started to create a page that some of the older, "buggy" plugins can be moved to.

http://gbpvr.com/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Plugi...ins-Legacy

Other ones are Music related plugins that still work, but are no longer being developed. That way users would know there is no possibility for feature requests.

Anyone have any ideas for other ones to include without going nuts and putting 70% of them there.

It saddens me to nominate this one... Sad

I'd nominate the Software Recorder Plugin... Very few people have gotten it to work in the last few months, not to mention that normanr hasn't been around this way in quite a while.

I had always hoped to be able to get it to work so I could have another tuner card in my box with hardware I had laying around.

NPVR Rig: HP Laptop, 3rd Gen i7, 8gb DDR3, 250gb SSD (OS), Records to 6tb array on my server, Silicon Dust HDHomeRun PRIME

I believe UbuStream uses the Software Recorder plugin.

Nah, that uses the 'external recorder' plugin, which still works fine.

Make sure you put revens MyXxxxx series over there.

I like you're effort to filter out up-to-date plugins, but I don't understand why you physically move them? Wan't that in itself turn out to "legacy" when you don't update that section anymore, and it's an awful lot of trouble to search and replace every page linking to a "legacy" plugin.

You also need to move all uploaded images and zip files etc, and their links. (I personally don't appreciate pages that move around Cool URIs don't change.)

I would recommend to just move them in the menus, and mark them as legacy (or out-of-date), you could use the Categories here. Or perhaps we should go the other way around, and mark all plugins with the category name of the version of GB-PVR that they are working in.

Any thoughts?

I dont really know how its physically done with in wiki, ie moving files vs updating enties in menus, but I do like the fact they're now in a separate section on menu on the left rather than staying mixed in with the others.

This old dead stuff is just a pain in the butt, and I'd prefer to keep it as separate as possible - but I do realise some people still run old versions, so I wont go as far as suggesting we delete them entirely.

Yeap, I agree, keep those left menues tidy, and if the old stuff are a big pain, why not just remove them from the menu completely, and just have them as a legacy list on the Plugin/Plugin page?

If we keep the URL, the people using them can still find them, and newcommers won't be bothered with them...

(As an answer to your question, updating the menu is as easy as updating a wiki page, moving pages includes manually moving files around on the server.)

blader_se, if you want the original links and pages to be referred, I will do this in the future.

I just did what I did based on an assumption that the files should be located in the same section. The index list on the page shows everything however, so maybe that should be removed, because that would list those obsolete ones?

I was going through the effort to move everything manually, but if this isn't the best way, feel free to "fix" what I did and I will follow that lead.
