I know this subject has been touched on elsewhere in the forum but thought I'd add it here as I'm having trouble with the audio level being too high and clipping when recording from an external source (my NTL cable box).
At the moment the only way round the problem appears to be to use some home-made attenuators in the audio line.

Chris

NTL Cable Box
PVR 350
Red-Eye Serial

PS Feel like I'm always complaining but actually think this is the best piece of PVR software I've tried yet. Thanks!

I'll second that request.

I also find that the audio levels coming out of my satellite receiver are inconsistent from channel to chanel. Right now I deal with this by running the audio through a VCR (that I don't use anymore [Image: tounge.gif] ) that has an audio level adjustment.

It would be really nice to be able to boost or attenuate the audio level.

Cheerio,

P.S. Kris, I know how you feel about always seeming to complain. This is a fabulous piece of software and I'm always afraid I'll come off looking like someone who is never satisfied. But the fact is, if nothing further were done with this program, I would certainly have no complaints.

I have the same problem recording from my Sky Digital box using SVideo or Composite/Line in, and it does vary greatly from channel to channel. Has anyone else noticed that the sound level during commercials on all UK TV (terrestrial and cable/satellite) increases significantly? I think they do this to wake you up if you've fallen asleep watching the footy, or to make sure you can still hear the TV from the kitchen while making a cuppa. Bloody annoying anyway! [Image: mad.gif]

I'd also like to see some visual indication of the current playback volume control (an OSD scale while using the volume controls).

I also second what everyone else says - this is quite simply the best PVR software you can get at any price (just to keep the compliments rolling and not wishing to sound like a whingeing old git).

In the next release I honor the Hauppauge recording volume registry settings, in effect allowing adjust the recording volume, but this obviously wont help you on a per channel basis.

I dont currently do this because with some of the client types I cant actually determine the volume. In these cases I can required more or less volume, but I can determine what its set at.

Yes indeed. That should pretty well do the trick.

What this will really let me do is finally ditch that nasty WinTV 2000 which is the only app I can use right now to dub my VHS collection since 0 level audio out of my VHS machine horribly overdrives the PVR-250 under GB-PVR. At least in the next version, I can just do a manual recording and feed the VHS into GB-PVR.

Nice work.

Thanks,

That will be the perfect solution for me thanks sub as I don't actually wish to change the volume on a regular basis, just set it up once then leave it alone.
Thanks again
Chris
