I was wondering if you can use GB-PVR to launch additional programs, for example, MAME or a MAME frontend [Image: biggrin.gif]

Will that type of stuff be easy to implement to the main menu with the API/SDK you are working on?

Thanks!

You can already launch programs from the front menu. Just configure up a 'mame' custom task in the Config app. (Obviously this is only for those that view via a PC monitor - and isn't possible on the PVR350 tv out or MVP.)

I don't understand why it wouldn't be possible on the 350 (but then again I don't own a 350, yet... )

My plan would be to use one of those EPIA m-series boards with the TV out (and mpeg2 decoding built in) which I'm fairly sure will display MAME just fine on a TV

Thanks for the answer, I need to hurry up and buy some hardware so I can play with this stuff (being a backseat quarterback is no fun!Wink

The PVR350 isnt a regular video card. Its only really capable of playing MPEG videos. In the case of my application, I've also managed to also overlay graphics on the video stream to show the menus and OSD. Unfortunately its not possible to show the desktop (or any other applications running on it) on the TV out of the PVR350.

That said, it is a very good piece of hardware and does an execellent job at displaying video on a TV.
