Sub;

Is there a way Flash could be used as part of the interface? I can program Flash (ActionScript) and could create great vector based UI for GBPVR.

GBPVR has evolved to include MediaMVP and the Xcard/PVR-350 direct video and sub in trying his best to keep the standards of the program for the compatibility of all of the devices it operates with. MediaMVP will not support the flash screens very well due to it slow refresh rate of the screen. If you do use flash you will probably get the first screen and the last screen, none of the animation in between on a MediaMVP.

Sorry - its not going to happen. Things are done very differently in flash than what would be required for GB-PVR. ...I also already find it difficult enough to manage the differences between PC/PVR350/XCard/MVP so I dont what to introduce these types of differences intentionally.

I understand; I just found out at work that I could take Dot Net classes. Maybe this would help me understand what can and can't be done. I understand this is part time for you and I don't even see how you were able to do what you have done already.

Fantastic work to-date.

is there any way to make non static menus? or something just to give it that little bit extra, like a rotating 3d object (directx or whatever), or changing backgrounds or even just a small graphic? xbmc has got features like this, well some skins do, the projectmayhem skin has a rotating axel on one menu, and when you change from my videos, my pictues etc, a graphic appears on the side eg tv for my vids, camera for my pics etc. I know this would draw on memory, but if the xbox with 64megs of ram does this fine, it should be possible, and i know the pc is running a lot more things that the xbox but still.

i dont know, i just like this looking really pretty. still looks good thou, #### good, just static, doesnt shout at you and say "HEY LOOK AT ME I'M PRETTY!!" [Image: smile.gif]

You can already do that with the skins for the main menu, but I'm artistically challanged and could find any good pictures to use, so its disabled by default. There is a setting in the main menu skin.xml file called something like showTaskImage="false".

Others have already been using this in their skins.

Sub let me ask you this, I know with my VIA board my video out displays the whole desktop, on the PVR350 will it do the same?

Next question if the PVR's output the Desktop then would I be able to use Flash to make call to your App (Kind of like Girder would) for example I have my Flash App sitting on top of GBPVR when I click the DVD button or press "D" on the keyboard I send a single to GBPVR to start the DVD player then minize the Flash player. I would think I would need Girder in order to pass the parameters or is there a way I can post to GBPVR.

Maybe to be clear GBPVR has it's default interface for the general user but if you want (If Flash can outup through the PVR350 video) you can opt for the Flash interface which hooks in but is not part of GBPVR. Kind of like a Plug-in maybe a Plug-in can be writted to allow custome key commands that are passed from a third party.

Is something like this possible. [Image: rock.gif]

Sorry, but the PVR350 cannot display the desktop.
