After getting get up with MCE2005 for many, many reasons, I decided to reinstall WinXP Pro and try GBPVR. All is well so far apart from the remote. I plugged in the receiver to a USB port and it was detected fine. Drivers were installed automatically and the device manager now shows the ehome devices under USB (irbus.sys) and HID (hid...dll) sections. When I press a button on the remote, the red light on the receiver comes on, so I believe the remote is sending and the receiver receiving. But nothing happens in GBPVR. I have told it to use the MCE Remote in config and restarted a few times. I tried running the showkey.exe utility and it shows no reponse to remote keypresses.

What next? I really want to get this working as GBPVR looks to be much better than the alternatives, but I don't really want to go the HIP route. How can I figure out what's going on here?

I have been having issues with an Origen AE 15 case, it has a builtin IR reciever that uses the IRTrans software, and is supposed to mimic a MCE remote reciever...

Is there any log where one can try and see what is going on? How does the MCE remote standard pass along the key presses to the software? Is it sendkeys (unlikely, no?)

how would one debug this stuff?

Fixed mine. I did a BIOS upgrade on the motherboard and it works now.

There's just one thing it doesn't do, and thats start/focus GBPVR using the green MCE button. I can see I could set this up using HIP but I'd rather not mess with something that is mostly working. Is there any other way of making this happen?
