Can you do your own mux/modulate now or in future?

In the old days, now as well I guess, we can emulate TV transmitters (on tiny power) so that we can tune in videos, STBs, cameras, games etc with RF modulators and watch them on analogue TV or tuner cards.

Can we now or in the future be able to digitise, mux and RF modulate to something like DVB-T to do the same but for digital TVs and Tuner cards.

I'm wary of taking the step to a digital TV with the consequent hassle of not being able to "tune in" my ancient add-ons.

Just get a digital TV with an HDMI connector and a PC with a similar output. Then stick an analogue tuner card in the PC...problem solved.

Technically, yes. Now - if you have the hw/sw expertise. But remember, analogue UHF isn't going to disappear as long as you have an analogue tuner card in your PC. (See comment above ).
