Looking for an AC3 codec as replacement for AC3Filter.

I'm having huge problems with AC3Filter (filed at their forum) and wants to replace it. Unfortunately I can't find any other AC3 codec around. Can anyone help me out?

What do you want the codec to do? Do you want the AC3 pass through SPDIF?

If you didnt mind paying, the Nvidia codec handles AC3, and can output to SPDIF but only in the more expensive versions (bronze version will just downmix)

Try before you buy with NVidia's decoders. I have the Gold version and it won't play back AC3 inside of GBPVR. It works outside of it but for some reason not within it - sub doesn't know why.

I use AC3 Filter precisely because the NVidia audio decoder doesn't work for me in GB-PVR.

looked to have spdif and correct mixing options...and it's free..

I agree.
ffdshow works great for me.
I send standard surround sound to my receiver from the sound card & it works just fine in 4 channel mode.

I installed ffdshow but got the same problem of freezing OS after stoping a movie that used 5.1 sound. I then uninstalled ffdshow and now I'm stuck with the same symptom as before even without AC3filter or FFDShow installed. This is getting a bit annoying.

Yes, I'm starting to believe that myself. I just ran the MSI Live Update and got a hint of updating the audio drivers which I did. Still no progress.

In a desperate try I installed NVIDIA drivers, and now I can't uninstall them without getting a BSOD. Extremely annoying.

The most annoying part is that I need a restart for every thing I change. It sure takes some time.
