Do they make an infrared gamepad ?? I'd love to use it with mame through gbpvr of course, i'v looked into the RF gamepads but the range on them say 30ft but in reality its only like 3ft.....Big Grin

I would assume that any ir gamepad would work cause I could train it with hip or girder.......

thanks

Intel used to have cool RF U-shaped gamepads with very good range. Maybe you can find them on ebay or craigslist.

I have a RF keyboard and mouse from Microsoft and it said a range on 30ft.....HA!!......If won't work unless it's under 12inches away from the receiver, I was hoping for a IR gamepad......But I will look into the Intel type and see what it can do.....

thanks

I found some on ebay. I own some and I know the range is more than 12 inches. I have never tested more than 8 or 10 feet though. It is in storage now so I can't test it for max distance. You might be able to have the ebay seller test it for you.

Wait, what about using a Wiimote on the PC. It is infrared and is a gyro remote all for $40, apart from a bluetooth adapter. Cheaper than the Intel. This I have yet to try. I will try it in the near future though.

I will just have to look into that, I wanted to run mame or other emulators, but I just picked up an Xbox for $50.00 from a friend and I heard there is a way to put emulators on that......I'll probobly try a bit of both......

I picked up a Logitech rumblepad 2 wireless. Good range. Works across my living room no problem.

the computer itself is about 7ft from the wireless keyboard, Ive tried it with the antenna on the computer and away from it and on the TV, it just gets poor signal unless its right in front of the keyboard.......

I don't know......

DoPeFish, I had the same (bad) experience with wireless keyboards and mice from Logitech and Microsoft. My guess is that they are designed just to replace the corded versions, not to be used from across the living room.

Check the RF keyboard in my signature. It has a great range. It works reliably at 20-25 feet from my HTPC. And can even work through walls, if the distance is reduced.

after a couple of RF pc controllers, that never worked that well. i went out a got a xbox 2 pc doggle, and then used my wireless xbox controller (logitech one + madcatz ones) and they both work perfect from about 5 metres away.

consoles ones are better since they expect people to be sitting further away, and plus they have a lot more buttons. and theres a really good free driver for the xbox controller so you can use all the buttons.
