ID3 Tags

Would it be possible to read and use ID3v2 tags as well as ID3v1 when in Music Library etc. It looks like GBPVR is only reading v1 tags, sorry if I've got this wrong. My music colllection seems to have a mix of tags, they all have v2, but many don't have v1 present and therefore the tag information is not picked up and just the file name is shown.

Failing that can anyone recommend a (free) way of bulk copying v2 to v1 tags for files in multiple directories, I've got about 5000 tracks in 600 odd directories to go through and I don't want to do it manually using WinAmp for example.

Rob,

Take a look at ID3-TagIt. It can do all the subdirectories of a parent directory (select "scan subdirectories" in the options menu).

What a star! Thanks for the info. I've now checked and added all the missing ID3v1 tags from over 5000 files is no time. Nice bit of software.
