I noticed that when you pause a video or live tv you can't hit the blue button to make the time bar hide so you can see the full screen, I know this used to work but I don't know what made it stop working, it's not a huge problem but it was nice to pause on a picture and hide the time bar to view the entire screen.....

any help??

thanks

I'm guessing you're using the VMR7 or VMR9 renderer? With these its not possible to update the OSD unless video is playing. You'll find that if you switch to 'VMR9 Custom' that you can do what you want.

Even with VMR9 it is trying to do what you suggest, but VMR9 doesnt update the screen so until the next frame of video so you dont actually see it.

How does this apply to the MVP?

I often pause something to go out to the kitchen to get a beer or whatever - the OSD stays up for quite a while but will disappear at some point (I've never timed it). If I get distracted (cat wants feeding etc.) I often come back to a clear picture without OSD.

Or is this unrelated to the question above?

Cheers,
Brian

Yeah, it eventually times out and goes away. The MVP should also be able to press the blue key to get the OSD to go away. Its only really a VMR7/VMR9 problem.

Cool - I didn't know that - it's not often I want to pause to actually see something - just usually a beer-run as I said. I'll try it.

There was a bug in v0.99.5, that could cause that, and a patch supplied in the sticky survival guide thread that fixed it.

or you could switch to the new v0.99.12 release.
