Hi!
I'm am new to gb-pvr. And I had some problems during installation but now I am neraly finished. It is an amazing program. I have few questions:
Is there any chance in the future to use a universal remote control with gb-pvr. I have a Kameleon 6 and I have bought it 2 or 3 years ago and it is a pretty good remote control. So if anybody have some suggestions please help.

The most time I spent with was the xmltv. Now it's almost perfect. There is a little thing that bothers me is that (I think it's the xmltv's fault) on most chennels the last programm starts for exaple at 22:30 and it takes until next day for exaple 10:30. And in the internet I there are athor programms during this time.

If anybody can help please write. Thx

There is no reason you cant use your Kameleon remote. I use a Home Theatre Master MX850. You'd have to have an IR Receiver though. If you had a Hauppauge IR Receiver, then you could set your remote to emulate the Hauppauge remote. If you have an MCE IR receiver, then you could set your remote to emulate the MCE remote. If you have a USB-UIRT, then you can learn whatever keys you want.

ditrics,

I have that exact same remote from a few years ago, and use it with no problem.

Basically, just follow this recipe from the GBPVR wiki to setup a serial IR reciever: http://gbpvr.com/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Hardware/WinLirc

It shows how to setup and use winlirc. In step 1, if you don't want or know how to build your own serial IR receiver, you can buy one on eBay for about $15 like I did. Just do an eBay search for LIRC, and there will be an item listed in the eBay stores section for $15 that is what you'll need.

The rest of the steps are pretty quick and easy. Took me about 30 minutes to setup, and works like a charm.

Hmm, I have seen this myself a number of times.. You need to check inside the XMLTV file to see if maybe the stop-time of the program is wrong (this has happened to me a lot) or if the information is simply missing from the file.

If it is the mismatch in stop-time, drop me a line. I wrote a little program that "clears up" these isseus in XMLTV files.

There is no built-in support for that IR transreceiver in GB-PVR, but if the software that comes with it can be configured to send specific keypresses to specific applications, then you should be able to get it to work.
