Issue: I have to run the OnAir TV program briefly every time I restart the
computer or resume from standby. Otherwise, GBPVR fail to tune the OnAir
GT. I seem to remember the tuning mode of OnAirGT being set to over the
air by default and GBPVR cannot use it until the device is set to QAM by
te included TV program.

Can this problem be fixed on the GBPVR side? Thanks.

Forgot to mention I'm using 99.12 and the latest (3/17/07) OnAir driver.
The problem existed with the previous OnAir drivers.

I'm not aware of anything special I need to do for this device to work properly. GB-PVR just treats all these devices the same.

Thanks for the response. I found a discussion that mentioned this is
indeed a problem of the driver from OnAir. It is a bit strange that
they still haven't fixed it. Since this is affecting scheduled recording
with GBPVR/OnAir, I wonder how others are dealing with the problem.

sub,
I know what's happening.

The OnAir GT appears to still be in 'Analog' TV mode when GB-PVR is attempting to tune QAM. I'm sending you a snippet of code now (via email), which should help you detect and set the Digital TV mode.

Thanks,

Ok, thanks. I've attached a patch that does what you've recommended. Let me know if it helps.

This initialisation uses some undocumented value I've never seen before, so I can only assume its some OnAir specific, but hopefully it'll help.

Hi Sub,

The quote above was post number 5 in the thread,

Is this patch still available? I'm still running with 0.99.12 and I'm experiencing the problem that this patch apparently solved.

Thanks.

Attachments are automatically deleted after a year or so, to keep the forum backup size manageable. I dont have a copy of that patch any more. Later versions of GB-PVR included the patch functionality though.

Thanks for the reply, Sub.

Does anyone else reading this have a copy of the patch that they saved?

Thanks.
