ShowAnalyzer crap?

I've used comskip in the past with mixed results, have purchased ShowAnalyzer, but I found it was useless. It detected about 5% correctly. And I could not find any documentation around how to fine tune using schoolhouse (I say on the forums a number of people also having the same issues with finding any documentation).

Has anyone had any success with ShowAnalyzer?

I tried to get something useful out of comskip a while back, but it was never really a success here.

Stumbled upon SA and have never looked back.

Yes, there has been one or two buggy versions along the way, but now I have a very good and accurate setup working for me here with an out-of-the-box installation.

It is possible to do quite a lot of tweaking, although it hasn't really been necessary for me.

As you probably know, it uses a combination of Station Identifier, black frames, commercial length etc. to detect the commercials. All configurable in a GUI interface.

Try it - you might actually enjoy it. To me it's worth every penny

PS: Keeping a previous working version before upgrading is always good practice - this is true for SA as well...

Could never get comskip to work well in the UK, ShowAnalyzer does a pretty good job after some tweaking
