I have installed Comskip and have told GBPvr to run it while recording and have told it to not run while recording. Either way doesn't matter it isn't cutting out the commericals.

I know this works because it was working before...Of course that was on WindowsXP.. I'm now running Vista.... may that be the reason and has anyone figured this out yet?

Thanks
John

Comskip isnt supposed to cut out the commercials. All it does is create a text file with the list of the times it thinks are commercials. GB-PVR can use that file when you playback that recording to automatically skip past the commercials.

Does a .txt file get created in the same directory as the recording?

If not, do you have a PostProcessing.bat file?

Do you have comskip in the gbpvr dir and do you have it enabled in the config app or do you have a postprocessing.bat file?

Go to the gbpvr program directory
open a cmd window (is that still possible in vista)
enter
comskip
and you should see some output from comskip
If that works create a shortcut to comskip on the desktop (drag and drop comskip.exe to the desktop while holding ALT)
Then drag and drop a recording onto the comskip shortcut.
YOu should see a cmd window with output from comskip while processing the recording.
Comskip can not process dvr-ms in live TV mode
