Just thought I ask what the "Active Movie" window is? I am resetting up my tuner and after I have scanned, if I pick a channel on the right to view it in the little window on the right, sometimes an Active Movie window pops up on top of the config window showing the channel in this separate window. When this happens...most likely config will lock up eventually (especially if I change preview to another channel). I have never seen this before. Any ideas?

Its very rare for anyone to see this, but it means the video decoder chosen by Directshow for playing your video could not be connected to the supplied video renderer, so Directshow creates its own window for showing the video.

Best thing to do try explicitly selecting the video decoder on the playback tab of the config app rather than relying on 'system default'. If you've already selected a decoder other than 'system default', then try a different one.

Sub,

I was able to map this time (I did not use the preview mode). The decoder I am using is the one the has worked best for me. It is the Cyberlink Video/SP Decoder (clvsd.ax) version 6.0.0.3431. If it is "apparently" working during normal livetv and recording use, is there any reason to change it? Or am I asking for trouble since I have seen this error during tuning?

You can get this with the Cyberlink decoder if you havnt added the Cyberlink EnableVMR9=1 registry setting, since the decoder is incompatible with VMR9 without this.
