Sub,
For my idea of creating a recording collision plugin I wanted to know if the functions I need are avaliable to us developers. My idea is to have a menu that shows the user all of the conflicting recordings and then simply allow them to say record this one not that one. Therefore I will need access to be able to disable scheduled recordings.

Thanks,
Rock

You would also need access to even read the currently scheduled recordings to determine the collisions. Figure out exactly what API you would like and I suspect sub will do what he can, when he can.

I personally feel this would be better done in gbpvr itself. So that when you schedule a recording, the conflict can be detected and allow you the option of resolving the conflict right then. Too easy to forget to call up your conflict plugin.

But that's just me [Image: smile.gif]

I completely agree with you on that but I was just wanting to help since I have been craving this functionality forever. And yah it would be nice for it to tell you when you are in the middle of scheduling but I am more concerned with the season recording how would you resove conflicts like that on the fly? You cant really, not until more options are added to the choice of scheduling types are increased and tweaked.

Sub,
Do I have access to:
read_recordings()
delete_recordings()
and any others you may find nessecary to make this a possibility.

If you cant or dont want to please add this to gbpvr!!!

Sincerely,
Rock

Sorry for the slow response Rock. I think CodeMonkey is correct, and I will need to do this directly inside GB-PVR. I promise this is high on the priority list, so I will definitely do it.

Just so you know, the pending release does contain APIs to access the list of scheduled recordings and the ability to cancel them.

So would you rather me not try? Are you close to implimenting this soon? And even if I started now, being experienced with only C++ and the summer semester of school starting, would you still finish this before me.

I understand that I could not creat anything as powerful as when you impliment it into GBPVR but a menu to do this for now would be nice. So if I should try this where can I get a listing of the APIs.

The main reason I would like to help is that I really love this project of yours and have resently purchased my very first HTPC parts and am trying to decide which program to use: GBPVR or MythTV. Myth is a little farther along than GBPVR but has seemed to come to a development slow down. But any way enough of my BS.

Thank you for your work here it has brought me much TV:laugh: .

Sincerely,
Rock A.
