I'm in the process of switching ovr to Video Archive. Right now, I have all my ripped DVDs in subdirectories: D:\DVD\[Genre]\[Movie]\, containing the VIDEO_TS, AUDIO_TS, and all the files. I understand that I need to convert them into MPG files, and I'm okay with that. I just need to figure out how. I tried the internal DVD -> MPG converter, but it wants to convert from a physical DVD. Am I missing an option to convert from a ripped directory? Is there a different tool I should use? I normally use RipIt4Me to rip my DVDs.

since you already have the files ripped to hd, they're unencrypted...so you can use anything that can read the dir...
mencoder can rip from dvd as well, but falls short on some of the more advanced encryptions...

but for a dir, it's great...i'll have to search for the command line i used...

%1 would be the directory you wish to rip, %2 should be the title#,and outfile.mpg is the output filename...[adjust to your likings]

hmm,do you just want a straight conversion without alteration? [compression]
here's a line that just converts to .mpg but you'll have to choose the correct title # yourself...[it's not always 1]

Mencoder.exe -noskip -alang en -vf harddup -ofps 24000/1001 -dvd-device %1 dvd://%2 -priority belownormal -cache 10240 -of mpeg -mpegopts format=dvd -oac copy -ovc copy -af volume=16 -o outfile.mpg

but it can also change the audio or video compression on the way, or overlay subtitles also..
