Build 60 of EWA has been released. You can download it here or on the wiki.

This upgrade requires GBPVR 99.12 or higher to work.

ZapTools Users if you have not yet upgraded to latest Version of ZapTools you will need to do so to use any version of EWA higher than build 54.
You can download from wiki....read the upgrade instructions.

Date: 2007-04-25 Build Number: 60 Changes:
  • UncleJohnsBand: Change behavoir of subtitle on guide showing as decription to only show as the description when the actual programme description attribute is empty and the user has selected to not to show subtitles.

  • UncleJohnsBand: Added a player option of Download which allows you to save the video stream to a file.
  • UncleJohnsBand: Added a second VLC profile that is used when streaming from the Music Library

On the download function, I assume that it will take the full playing time to download a file. Is that right?

That depends on your internet connection upload speed. The download function sends you the entire MPEG file from your GB-PVR recordings directory. For me an hour recording is about 1.7GB. That would take about 12 hours to upload over my DSL connection. There is a request to add a transcode option to make the file size smaller which would be different from the Stream option.

I think there is a new download function that downloads the transcoded stream. It seems to me that has to download in time it takes to watch the transcoded file.

When I click download, it's prompting me to download a 1.73GB file.

I have not yet found the ability to transcode a recorded show.

When you select to stream a file on the next window that pops up, there is a selection for the stream player. You can select VLC, WMP or download.
I think download is new.

Good question.....I believe that is a good assumption....if VLC internally plays the file then it would be the play time of the file to download.....if VLC does a pass through then it would be connected to the upload speed of the host server and the download speed of the client.

There is supposed to be a way to download in RAW format but I have not yet figured that one out.....I would assume RAW is a pass through method....I am continuing to work on that one.

Yes....this new download function is realated to streaming....so if you have not configured EWA to be able to stream (transcode and broadcast recordings/music) then you will not see a Stream option. If you install VLC on the Server and configure EWA to use Streaming you will see a Stream button show up along with the standard Play and Download.

Stream Info is on Wiki.
