Greetings Folks

I've been reading around since I got a MS MCE Remote and want to configure some buttons (like missing Prev). What I have run across is that I will need the replament driver but that it has caused problems for people. So I was hoping some of you with experience would weigh in here for me Smile

The problem i had with the alternative drivers was they didnt cope with power management very well. fairly often, id have to unplug/plug the receiver to bring it to life again after a resuption from standby.

other than that, they were fine, but as the PVR was headless, it became a bit of a showstopper when the missus turns the thing on and cant get to her Eastenders :-)

what exactly are you trying to do though? if its just to assign actions to the buttons on the remote which currently do nothing, you dont need the alt driver, you just need the usual one plus something like HIP or Eventghost.

I am trying to go with EventGhost as far as I can with what I am looking to do.

That is to get a Prev Ch at least. Not sure about anything else fancy yet.

Well I finally got time to tinker and without installing the alternative driver I installed and configured EG. I am however running into the double click problem I've read about. So I tried installing the alt driver but at this step I'm stumped.

In the Universal Serial Bus Controllers section, locate the entry for the remote, right click and select "Update Driver"

There is none that I can see

Yes got the alt driver loaded finally and now just have to deal with the sensative buttons. It's not double clicking but the buttons are quick, like the up and down arrows.
