Remember to grab the very latest when starting your tests. Currently it's 79
That works
Check. ZProcess does that
Yep. ZProcess can do this. (the VideoRedo for commercial cutting will need to be added, but I already have a VideoRedo script for re-encoding so it should be easy)
I have ZRename earlier in the steps, but that's cuz ZProcess can keep the name change straight...
That IS my goal. I hate batch files. The whole idea is to have ZProcess replace the fancy dancy PostProcessing.bat that guys are using... Yeah it's customizable, but lots more room for error and confusion...
Well, like you said, the balance between size and quality is quite crazy. I have not seen a combination that looks good at 350Mb for 45 mins of video. (with either FFmpeg, MEncoder or VLC)
Two pass is possible, it's still in ZProcess's code, but I hid it in recent versions, as I wanted to see who's using it and who is complaining. I never wanted people to use two pass for on-the-fly transcoding for MVP. (That would make a mess)...
I think that MEncoder makes the best quality but it's quite slow. There's some tweaking there, that's for sure...
Anyway, back on ZRename, I think we're on the home stretch. Thank you so much for your help...
-Oz- Wrote:I hadn't included zrename in my postprocessing yet. I was just running it off the bat file included. Just dragging and dropping it on since nothing records for me over the weekend.
That works
Quote:Also, the way my system runs is:
PostProcessing
Add the filename to TranscodeQ.txt
Check. ZProcess does that
Quote:Nightly processing
3. Loop through the list doing the following:
a. Run comskip
b. Cut commercials with videoredo
d. xvid convert with super old version of stattik's script
f. ZRename

Quote:I had at one point looked into zprocess but at the time it was more for the mvp and not as much transcoding. It seems to have caught up so I may try again. It would make life a lot easier

Quote:I actually don't like the parameters that much in stattik's file but they seem to give the best size to quality ratio. I really want to do a double pass transcode and have the program attempt for a size of 350mb. All my playing never seemed to do it though.
