I noticed today that when right-clicking the tray icon and mousing to Pending, the pop-up display said a program scheduled for tonight was actually pending for Tomorrow. Opened GB-PVR and everything was OK, then I went back to Slimm and this time Clicked on the "Pending Tomorrow" entry, and it said "Will record Today" and then an instant or two later the pop-up started working correctly.

This happened just a few minutes ago (6:15pm local time, for a show due to be recorded at 9:00pm tonight). It was disconcerting, so I wonder how Slimm updates its floating info??? Wasn't right today...

I don't use the pending menu option as you described, but I left-click once on the tray icon and that bubble has always been correct. I think it changes at midnight (or so I've seen). I assume that both use the same code to determine today/tomorrow/day so Slimm might have to weigh-in on this one.

If the time of the start of the recording is today or within 5 hours it is called today.

This was done so that if I looked at the balloon at 11pm, items that were recording at 1am were still called today. I felt that more natural than saying it would be recording at 1am tomorrow.

That is my preference. What do you think?

Thanks for that--in my case I looked around 6pm and got "Tomorrow" for a 9pm show so I dunno what might have happened there. It was really no big deal except that it made me double-check my recording setup.

My prior experience with PVRs has been Tivo, and more recently MyHD (HD tuner), and at least w/Tivo "tomorrow" was always "tomorrow" so my opinion is that SlimmGBPVR should respect the clock. But then too I've been at this long enough to take care scheduling early a.m. recordings, or recordings that bridge-across midnight.

It's your program Mister Slimm I think you should leave it at what makes you happy!! Big Grin

Yeah, that's weird. Are you sure the show wasn't called "Tomorrow"? Wink

Forum announcement.

I have updated Slimm GB-PVR to be aware of a registry setting called SmartDateTodayHours that will now provide control over this Today / Tomorrow functionality. Open up the Documentation \ Slimm GB-PVR help file installed in the GB-PVR Start menu group and find the Registry page for more information.

Hey, thanks Mister Slimm for this update! I've been playing around with it after adding a SmartDateTodayHours ... DWORD = 0 to the Ballons key in the Registry and it seems to be working for me.

Your program is appreciated! Smile

Um, you don't add it to the Balloons key. You add it to the parent "Slimm GBPVR" key.
Code:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Slimm Solutions\Slimm GBPVR\SmartDateTodayHours
I clearly haven't written my help file clearly. Sorry about that.
