Hey guys,

So I got a new Sapphire 550Pro capture card and it came with a remote... The sensor is USB, I plug it in, and XP detects it ok.

But none of the buttons do anything :|. Do I need to install something like girder to get it to work?

One other thing, I didn't install the drivers that came with the card, I downloaded the latest from ATI. Looking at the driver CD, I don't see anything resembling a remote driver or app.

Anyone using one of these that can help me out?

Obviously I'll want to get this working with GBPVR.

If you set the remote type to 'MCE remote' in the config app then most of the buttons should work, with the exception of those in the white square.

I use a program called xcommander and it can be configured to dao anything you want with every button on the remote. I think i found it at a site called "The green button" anyways, its free and works great

I have been using mine for about a year now using Girder 3.3. There are no drivers because Windows sets it up as a default HID device (actually installs it as several HID devices). Using the generic HID plugin it allows me to remap the "white-box" keys.

As far as i am aware, HIP has not been able to get this device working yet. I am a big fan of girder. One of the best purchases i have made. It should make my next remote transition fairly pain free (currently testing which i like better between the Logitech Harmony and the Gyration MCE remote).

Thanks a lot for the info guys. I switched it to MCE and it works great. Now on to part 2 of my issue.

Sub - strange question, but is there some workaround such that I can configure GBPVR to use both a Hauppauge remote AND a MCE one?

I have the strange requirement of using 2 remotes. For the curious, I have my HTPC connected to a S-video switch outputting to 2 different TVs. One in the computer room with the HTPC, the other in our living room on the other side of the wall. The best solution would be to use a RF remote, I know :/. But I have these 2 remotes that could do the trick if I can get them both working at the same time Smile.

No, but most (all?) things on the Hauppauge remote should work when you've configured it for the MCE remote.
