not exactly (I think) HD-DVDs are not playable through directshow (what GB-PVR uses), and have to be played back through a specialized player, I know WinDVD8 will play HD-DVDs, not sure what else.

if you get some software that will play the HD-DVD for you, you can create a custom task for GB-PVR to start that application, and configure your remote to control that app.

Good Luck!Smile

Gamezone can be setup to run a pc task as well. It will allow you to browse a directory, select a file and run a custom task.

if you get a copy of cyberlink or intervideo with hd-dvd playback, you could set up a custom task to launch the application to play the dvd.

Yeah, custom task is probably the way to go at this stage.

Another option includes using backuphddvd to rip the disk to the hard drive, then I'm fairly sure the movie (no menus) will play assumming the correct combination of directshow decoders are installed.

I agree... use a custom task. I played around with this and was able to get the video working with the Haali filters but I could not get audio to work unless I used Sonic Scenarist filters (thanks to a friend letting me use his machine as a test). I can't afford those filters so I gave up until an audio filter comes out that will work.

Sidebar: sub, any chance of getting a GB-PVR MultiSource filter as in load a list of files to play? When I was messing with the HD-DVD stuff, I realised that I would need to "switch disks" because the movies were usually in two files. another reason I scrapped the project.

Not at this stage. I'm not taking on anything new until the next release is out. Maybe in a future release though.

Thanks for the reply. Don't add that to your list though, I was just wondering if one was in the works.
