I am very frustrated with all this to the point of giving up.

Here my situation.
I have a TV in the bedroom
Computer is in the office. both are on the second floor.
I have a computer in the basement by my entertainment center to act as a pvr.
In the bedroom I have a Wireless MVP streaming from my office pc.
I'm using gbpvr which works ok for this part which is basically to watch recorded TV in the bedroom.

I'd also like to listen to my music but all the music players I've downloaded are very cumbersome and they don't read ID3 tags for album art which was very disappointing since I have my entire collection tagged.

In the basement I can't get video to my 48 projection tv. I did get S-video to work but I can't get DVI to work with a decent resolution. Obviously this has nothing to do with gbpvr but frustrating none the less. I got a different video card and now I get no color on my s-video connection and DVI still doesn't work. Also I can never get gbpvr to go full screen for live TV. I always see the bars across the top. This has to be something simple I missing. My MVP doesn't have this problem.

Unfortunately the built-in Music Library is what it is. Its a pretty simple file based browser. As you probably guessed, I dont listen to alot of music, so its only a very basic music player. You'd pretty much have to rely on plugins to get more feature rich music playback. How well these plugins work isnt some under my control.

Unfortunately this is also something I cant really help with.

What bars do mean? Are you talking about black bars or seeing the Window title bar? Can you post a screenshot?

How about GB-PVR's config, deselect 'Show in Windowed mode' on the General tab...

I don't think any of the music plugins do any more.

I used to with mine (see sig), but let it go for support of more types of tags, rather than just supporting MP3.

It's something I come back to every so often, but not something I'm putting a lot of effort into.

Most plug-ins can pickup album art if it's saved as folder.jpg in the same directory as the album.

Album Art Aggregator is a useful tool to batch download album covers and save them in the right place with the right file name.

what kind of TV do you have? does it have an analog input (15 pin D-sub)? that will probably let you use it at its native resolution.

Can't help you with the DVI problem, but what I can remember from the S-VHS
connection is that some videocards have a combined composite / s-vhs output and you must enable/disable s-vhs/composite in the dispay properties.
hope this helps

Yes I do. The native res does not fit the screen. I'm not at home this moment so I can't remember what it was off hand. 1920 x ? I believe. The other resolutions I try either start to shake the screen or distort very badly. Is there a particular video card I need to purchase or is there a way I can tweak this?

The video card I have is the EVGA Nvidia FX5500 256MB

thanks!

can you say the exact (or approximate) TV you have, who makes it, what model, etc. best you can give right now, then fix later if you need to
