Hi everyone, been reading the wiki and forums for 24h now and am still getting stuck getting gbpvr working on my system. When I click Live TV, I get the message "No channels have been setup. Please run the configuration Utility blah blah bla" You can see the rest in the logs.

My computer:

Opteron 180
2 gig memory
Hauppauge 350
Windows Vista
gbpvr 99.12

I also have Nero 7 and Trend Micro 2007 installed if anyone thinks that's an issue. I've tried various combinations of decoders w/ no luck. I even disabled the firewall once to see if that would do anything.

Interesting bit is that the Tuning Assistant properly cycles through my channels (I have cable that I connect directly from the wall to the hauppauge with a coax.)

Of course, Windows Media Center can display Live tv with no problem.

I ran DeviceTypeCheck.exe and mysteriously doesn't report anything.

I would really appreciate any help/guidance/suggestions that anyone would have for me. I have a feeling it's something easy that I've overlooked.

Thanks,

Tom

Sounds like a problem i had when i first started. I believe if you dont use a EPG list of channels/channel info , you can use the tuning assistant.

not sure if this is the only way to do it, but this is my first time and I read the wiki and since I am in the US, it recomended signing up to zap2it. Once I did that, and then selected my channel line up online. Everything worked great.

my only problem is I need some help with my remote, but that is another post :-)

Yep, I signed up for zap2it. It doesn't appear to be working though from the error message. I also (obviously) can't view the TV Guide.

I tried no EPG, but I don't see how using the Tuning Assistant would help other than to prove to me that it can see channels on my card.

did you get the channel line up all set up on the zap2it site? You would remember because you would have to tell them what type of cable you are using etc.

Yup you need to select all your channel lineup, then in gbpvr put your login information in. Then do a click update epg to force it to load for its first time( it may act like its frozen but give it time)

I think I have the channel lineup going properly, I choose comcast digital cable and it appears to have downloaded channels. (but no program data as far as i can tell) Ive attached screenshot of recording source screen so you can see. I'm in seattle area if that isn't obvious from the channels. And I'm a .Net software developer at a large software company in the redmond area...but not the company you're thinking of Smile So you'd think I'd be able to figure this out...

Thanks for the suggestions...

I just logged into zap2it and confirmed I have a lineup and all channels selected. I selected digital cable, but I will only be able to get 1-99 through the coax w/o using a cable box.
