Hi,

Although the GBPVRRecordingService.exe and GBPVRTray.exe are running, I no longer see the tray icon. All else (upgrade) seems to be working. I've attempted to restart the recording service and reset the config, but no icon.

Any ideas? Vista Ultimate, HVR-1600, ATI x800

PS. GREAT RELEASE. This is an awesome application and it is greatly appreciated!

You sure its not being auto hidden by Windows? Have you tried clicking the little arror thing in the system tray?

As long as GBPVRTray.exe is running, then it should have a tray icon.

I've not heard any other reports of it being missing.

I never had a problem with it showing, as long as GBPVRTray was running. I've noticed for a long time that sometimes it starts up and sometimes it doesn't. I've never been able to figure out exactly why it's that way, it's in the startup folder. I also never gave it all that much thought either since the machine sits in an upstairs equipment closet and i don't see it all that often anyway. Smile

I have had this niggle in 99.12 as well as 1.08, where GBPVRTray.exe's Icon will only appear after ~1 in 4 reboots. I assumed it was due to startup load on my XP PIII 866 512Mb box. I just Kill the GBPVRTray.exe's process and restart it from the startup folder, and then it's icon comes back everytime. My box lives on S3 standby anyway, so this is only a minor niggle on reboots.
Otherwise 1.08 works greatSmile .

Same Happening to me. Since upgrading to 1.08 the tray icon does not appear even though the executable is running.

Worked fine until the upgrade.

Is GBPVRTray.exe listed in the Task Manager?

I had problems like this with other apps to. It actually is a Windows bug (imagine that). I know it's a bug in XP, not sure about Vista.

Here is one site that has an explaination:

Yes GBPVRTray.exe is listed in the task manager.

What I can't understand if it is a windows bug, Why was the tray icon appearing everytime without fail until I upgraded to 1.08?

It's no big deal I can live without it. Just thought i'd mention it because it seems like other people are having the same problem.

Sorry that I wasn't clearer... I'm not saying that the problem you are having is the bug, I'm just mentioning that this bug does exist.

You absolutely positive Windows isnt just hiding it? It auto hides tray icons that arent used often.

This utility hasnt been touched in well over a year, so I cant see any reason for this version to behave any differently. GBPVRTray.exe is pretty simple utility, with not much that can go wrong. If its running, then I'm pretty sure the icon would have been created.
