hi there,

i finally managed to complete the work on my movieDBPlugin. you can download it from here.

you need dvd-profiler from intervocative software. you can find it here.

make a list of your dvd's and export this list as xml-file to a folder of your choice.

edit the preferences in movieDBPlugin and enter the required paths.

how it works:
the plugin goes through your video-library and remembers every file (for now, even txt and jpg-files are displayed, i will change that). show all displays your hard-drive-movies and the movies listed in the dvd-profiler-xml. chosing an online movie leads you to the details page, where you can play the movie or (if it is a folder) display the files and then play the files.

you can also "add..." the movie to the dvd-profiler-xml. the details and movie-infos will then be added to the hard-drive-movie.

what doesn't work:
- movie list can contain non-movie-files.
- no sorting, no grouping
- only one folder-level (e.g. c:\....\...\movies and c:\....\...\movies\othermovie)
- no mouse support :-) <- will work soon

try it and report bugs and your wishes! thanks.

edit: if you do not use the skin blueTask, just copy the movieDB-folder to your preferred skin.

It works [Image: smile.gif]  ALthough I cannot seem to play the movie, I press enter on the play button, nothing happens.

How does it know which mpeg to play?

Ok, got it to play, but the desc/poster are gone.  My movies were in a sub folder (which you mentioned doesnt work yet).  So I moved them up to the main.  They are all visible, but none have info (even the ones I added).  How do they match them up? ... ok found the add stuff [Image: smile.gif]

Ok, real error.

I added 5 movies with the profiler... getting Error: Object reference not set to an instance of an object when I click on the movieDB button.

I found the error. Be sure to check if fields are NULL [Image: smile.gif] One movie did not have an overview. So far its working well, need to try it on the MVP.
