I've just uploaded two of Jeffs new plugins to the plugins page. We now have a DVD2MPEG plugin which I'm sure will be greatly appreciated by MVP and PVR350 owner wanting to watch DVDs. We've also got Video Archiver plugin for managing recordings, and archiving off to the video library when required.

Here is a link to a PDF explaining this cool new plugins:

Thanks Jeff!

Thanks, Jeff! I downloaded the Video Archiver plugin and have been giving it a try. I really like the way it groups recordings by show and the option to sort ascending and descending is great, as well!

I've found one possible bug, though. The sorting seems to be off in some cases. I'm not sure exactly what is going on...here's an example with a show that is recorded M-F. We have one show saved from September (9/28/04) and then the latter part of October and the November 1 (today). The sorting looks like this:

11/1/04
9/28/04
10/29/04
10/28/04
10/27/04
etc...

Thanks again for a great plugin!

Thanks for the feedback. I use the built-in.NET sorted list class and DateTime object for sorting so it is all supposed to work automatically -- guess not. I only tested with US date/time format. I don't suppose that you are using some other format? In either case, the easiest way for me to reproduce it would be if you could email me your gbpvr.mdb file (and video archive.mdb file if you have one) so that I could use it in place of my own and replicate your setup. If it isn't practical to do I’ll try to think of some other way to track the problem down.

Jeff, great plugins, I look forward to ripping my DVD's for GB-PVR.

I have run into one issue, I installed both of them this weekend and my pending recordings was not working, it would give me an error, so I let it go so I can try out the other features and report back later. Then this Monday I got an error browsing my existing recording. "Error: Specified cast is not valid". I was scrolling down and stopped on a manual recording that finiahed that morning and that is when the error occurs. My manual recording disapeared from pending after it ran, some others have been discusing this problem in another thread, but now the pending screen is working, and the existing manual recording is causing the error.
My manual recording starts at 11:00pm Sunday and runs till 2:00am Monday to record Adult Swim. Let me know if you want the same MDB's and I will glading send them. (ZIP'ed or RAR'ed)

Hi Jeff, sounds very promising. I was trying the DVD2mpeg plugin, but never got beyond the 1. Step.

The files generated in my temp-directory are 4:

audio.ac3
VTS_04 - Stream Information.txt
VTS_04_0.ifo
VTS_04_1 - 0xE0 - Video - MPEG-2 - 720x576 (PAL) - 16~9 - Letterboxed.M2V

After that nothing happens. Anything I can do to find out, what the problem is?

Best

I never use manual recordins so I never tested them. They are handled doifferently in GBPVR that show-based records. I've made a change and tested it with pending records and it seems to work fine. I scheduled a manual recording to run today so I wiill test with it later to make sure I work with completed manual recordings as well.

The DVD2MPEG plug-in generates its own log file in dvd2mpeg.log. You can find the log in your root GBPVR directory. It may give you move insight into what want wrong. If not, you can email the log to me. In general the plug-in is supposed to clean up after itself it is dies early so there should be no leftover files.

One other thing you might look at is how you have DVDDecrypter congfigured. You should selecvt settings and make sure that all the "Other" settings on the lower right corner of the General tab are unchecked. If these are checked DVDDecypter will promt you when it runs into things like region codes and I've noticed that the process doesn;t work very well after you respond. If these options are unchecked the DVDdecrypter just does what it thinks is right and it seems to me that it usually is right.

Hi Jeff,

Me too, doesn't seem to get past stage 1 for me. Maybe I'm just not waiting long enough, but can't see any additional processes running or CPU doing much after Decrypter has finished. My log file shows the following.

<table border="0" align="center" width="95%" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0"><tr><td>Code Sample </td></tr><tr><td id="CODE">02/11/2004 21:40:25:    GBPVRRootDir is C:\Program Files\devnz\gbpvr\

One thing I have noticed is that I can't set the 'DelayPath', the config.xml setting is ignored according to the path shown in the log file. However, I copied the delayac3 file to that location also just in case.

Just trying again, now I've unchecked the settings in Decrypter, however this part seems to finish okay without any prompting. I'll let you know if it makes a difference.

You are right; I had a typo in the line that read in the setting for the delay path, that lead to the mplex path being set to whatever you specified as the delay path and the delay path being hard coded to c:\Program files\DVD Tools

Can you change the config.xml file so that you have the same values for the delay path and then copy delayac3.exe to c:\Program files\DVD Tools and let me know if it works? I can send out an updated plug-in if it does.

Thanks

Hi Jeff,

I disabled all warnings in DVDDecrypter and put all files into C:\Program Filer\DVD Tools and set the configure.xml accordingly. Still the same result:
