Having only recently discovered gbpvr, and 99.12 is working perfectly, I am now uncertain whether to install the new version or leave it as it is - based on the old adage "If it 'aint broke, don't fix it!"
Can anyone advise me why I should upgrade, i.e. the main advantages?
Regards

Normally i'd say go for it and upgrade, but this is a big upgrade and not all features are in place just yet. While you're learning some were i you i'd wait a bit before i upgraded, IMHO of course.

Only reason I upgraded is since I rely on Zap2it for EPG. Since Zap2it is going away, any new EPG update service/plugin is going to be written for the latest and greatest version of GBPVR, so I'll be forced to upgrade at some point. Figured I'd try it now to get the bugs worked out rather than waiting till later when i don't have as much time.

But honestly, if you don't care about screen animations and don't rely on zap2it, I'd stick with 99.12 as I'm back to fighting video quality issues with 1.0.8

It is not uncommon for me to skip a release when I upgrade. So I know exaclty how you feel about it.

With this version I think you need to bite the bullet and upgrade. Anything new will be developed for 1.x+ so to keep it current you will have to upgrade at some point. Also, if you wait to long, it may make the eventual upgrade much harder than it needs to be.

Like I said, in most cases I would agree with the above posts, but with this relase I don't. Smile

When it comes to GB-PVR... I always have to consider the WAF. Wife Acceptance Factor. Big Grin
