The new "on TV" messages look very nice (e.g in the resume video function) - very slick!

I'm still having problems with Live TV - I still lose sound sometimes, and get the picture/sound breakup on channel change - curiously though I don't get it as bad on the first channel viewed.

Fast forwarding now works in videos first time, but rewind doesn't and also it impacts the working of the fast forward button afterward.  Hitting pause/play sorts this out.

The resume function works when hitting escape to get back to the play video menu, but clicking on "Menu" from the video itself does not activate the resume settings, so next time in it starts from the top.

This is only a niggle - in order to set up channels in the config program I need to run config three times - first to set up the recording source, second to import the EPG data, and third to set the UK channels overrides (e.g. 1=39, 2=45, etc).

A lot of comments this time - but the system is getting better every release and I really like the onscreen dialogs (have I mentioned that already?)

Cheers,
Andy

Yeah, LiveTV is still causing me some problems. Slowly getting there though. LiveTV is much better now than when it was first implemented a few weeks ago. Hopefully over the next couple of releases it will settle down.

Sub,
Though late, here are my findings with 008d. I wanted to post them earlier, but forgot! I realise 009 is already out, so possibly most of these errors have already been fixed.
-LiveTV: switching channels works, but the first several seconds give a boxy picture, stuttering, beeping and missing sound. After these first seconds, it works OK including the sound.
-Music:
_Playing an m3u file and skipping backward and forward, pressing stop gave lots of errors (the errors on the TV are handy though ;-), GBPVR hangs. After stopping GBPVR from the taskmanager, wintv2000 crashes also....
_Playing music, stop, OK (no skipping done). But then playing a video afterwards and skipping forward then, caused the music to start playing again! Video as well...
_From my memory, the remote pause button doesn't work with music.
-Returning to the menu after having used livtv or having played a video: small strip of the last image remains at the righthand side of the display.
I felt 008d was less stable than 008 alpha, but that may be just coincidence.

Another tip I like to propose is to reduce the size of the OSD, and shift it up so that it fits in a widescreen picture. I have a widescreen TV (16:9) that recognizes widescreen and zooms to fit. FOr the video this is great, but the GBPVR OSD cannot be seen then. Only by zooming out, but that's annoying.
Also, it would be handy to have the total time of the file being played on the OSD.

I suppose I can test 009 tonight and post the results tomorrow (if I don't forget them...) Is that useful, or is 010 available by then ?

Greetings,
Maarten

Hi MaBo,

All the music stuff (skip forward, back, pause, stop etc) you mention above was corrected for 009.

One PVR350 (which from memory you are using), the OSD can be resized using the settings in config.xml. Take a look, its pretty easy to work out.

Mabo - I have a widescreen TV too...  I have worked out the distances on my TV (Philips) which are visible in 14:9 mode - image as follows:

I meant to work out 16:9 as well, but haven't got round to it yet.

You can use the skinning feature to make a skin that works within the 16:9 boundaries or move the display using the xml file as sub suggests.

Cheers,
Andy
