When I create a Recurring recording and when I check Pending, should the recording show up as Recurring or Record Once ?
For me, it shows up as Record Once.
I find that when I then update the Recurring recording (eg. Name Prefix), the Pending does not show that it's changed and the final recording still shows the old name.
I haven't tried changing the date, time cause I don't want to miss any recordings.
I wonder should this be the correct behaviour ?
Thanks !

This is normal. When do this it creates a master recording shown in the recurring list, and possible many individual one-off recordings that show up under the pending list.

This is the correct behaviour. Changes to the master recording only affect one-off recordings that havnt been created yet. It doesnt change existing ones that have already been created (though you may find that happens at the next EPG update if you have the 'complete EPG reload' option enabled).

1. When are the one-off created ?
2. How many recurrance into the future are the recurring ones created ?
3. So how do I sync the one-off listed in the pending with the master recurring ones ?
4. If I just delete the pending ones, what would happen ? I missed a recording ? Or a updated one-off is created ? If updated one-off is created, then I can just delete all the pending ?

Thanks !

The either created when you first create the recurring recording, or when the EPG update occurs.

When you update the EPG it'll look for any shows in that data that match a season recording, and will schedule one-off recordings for them.

For season recordings, if you have th 'complete epg reload' option enabled (by default it is), then these will be updated during the next EPG update (since they will be deleted and recreated). For manual recurring recordings, you'd have to update each one manually.

Oh dear. I don't have EPG here. All are manual.
Can you advise me the correct procedure to update the manual recurring recording so that the pending are updated correctly as well ?
Thanks.

Future one-offs that get created will automatically get the new settings from your updated recurring recording. If you want your existing one-off recordings, you might find it easier to delete the recurring recording (which automatically delete all the pending one-offs for that recording), then recreate it with the settings you want to use.

Try and get yourself a proper EPG - you'll save yourself a lot of effort in the log run.

There isn't any in my location !

ic. But if it is able to automatically delete the pending one-off when I delete the recurring, then it would not be difficult to enhance GBPVR to properly do a update to the pending when I update the recurring. My simplistic thought would be when I try to update a recurring:
- get input from user
- upon user saving the record
- delete all the pending one-off for the recurring
- create the newly updated recurring record and pending one-off

Would that be correct ? Any intention to enahance this bit ? Wish ?

Something simliar is already on my todo list for the future, but manual recordings never seem to get very far up the priority list since the majority of users dont use them. For now you'll just have to do as I advise above.

Ok. Thanks.

The way this is implemented. What would happen if I advance my system time ? Would it delete all my pending and recreate them ? I thought may be, it would trick the system to expire them and then when the time is changed back, it would recreate them with the correct info. I can easily try this but I try not cause I'm afraid that I would missed some recordings.

This will cause these recordings to be marked as failed. They will not be automatically deleted.
