Had been using SA with previous versions of GB-PVR with great success for a _very_ long time.

Since upgrade to 1.0.16 -- it appears that SA dies immediately after being launched by GB-PVR.

BUT - if I launch manually against the same file it runs and finds commercials just fine!

I upgraded to Jere's new SA 0.9 -- no help.

Has anyone else had any symptoms like this???
-or recognize the possible problem??

Thanks a lot,

I just got my new power supply and upgraded to this new fancy version so I'm a bit late, but yes I'm having problems.

The big one seems to be that ShowAnalyzer is outputting the log file just fine, however is not outputting the txt file needed by GB-PVR. Actually, it's being outputted, the file just has zero length. None of the other file types have a length either: VideoRedo and etc.

I looked at the ShowAnal/DragonGlobal forums and found nothing. I reinstalled this latest version of SA and tried a manual run, but no output either. There is only one txt file with information and it says:
Quote:FILE PROCESSING COMPLETE
------------------------

And that's it! Hrmmmm

John,

Are you also noticing tha twhen under GBPVR control that SA pops up just for an instant than goes away also?

Make I test by launching SA from the executable and pick the same file to run.

Let us know what happens.

Wow that was quick.

No, the process runs to completion; in fact the log file seems to have the timestamps for the commercials picked out, they just don't end up in any of the cut/txt/etc files.

EDIT: Let me add this strange thing too: I was recording a show for testing and was installing plug-ins at the same time last night. During this time the recording service wouldn't restart unless I killed the SA process. Does this sound right?

I was going to post and ask what the secret was to get this to work in Vista as it seems like it's fine in XP. I did have it working shortly after 1.016 but it just stopped. I get no files at all, even zero size. I can manually use it with no problems.
Not sure what to try next but I double checked all the settings and they appear to be fine.

Please keep your voices down  ! Mine is working brilliantly still (with SA from May) so don't give it any ideas...! Wink

Don't know what you mean by pop-up. I always get SA up running visually showing the progress. Just to clarify, this is happening in postprocessing automatically launched after recording completion by the service.

nia, would you mind posting your settings from Configure ShowAnalyzer for me? I've changed nothing since it was last working and it does work manually very well. I had mine set to invivisble mode but changed it to see what happens after recording stops. The answer is, nothing!
