I have this working on a DM500C more or less - excellent GUI - only problem, it records the wrong channels - so my channel mapping needs looking at.

I used an XMLTV grabber from here http://www.birtles.org.uk/xmltv/. Seems to work brilliantly but maybe this is where the mapping went wrong? Captured 2 weeks of epg from Radio Times & epg is correct i.e. each channel has the correct program listing against it. But when I use it to change channel or record on the Dreambox it chooses the wrong channel

I used Ggrab & the Dboxrecorder plugin. I haven't tested the recorded files for errors yet - it records in Mpeg format & I'm looking to see if I can get native ts format recording

If I do & I get the channels sorted this will stay as my PC control for the 500 Box

I have been through this myself.

Can you tell me how the DreamBox is connected to GBPVR. What version of GBPVR. What image on the Dreambox.

Where are you in the world. and any more info.

Sorry Dave,
Yes I was just about to edit my post with the missing info when I saw your reply - thanks for such a quick reply.

I'm in Dublin, Ireland running Dreambox 500C with final Pli Helenite image on N*L cable.

Dreambox is connected through router - no connection problems here.

Latest version of GBPVR

Ahhhhh ..... i had problems with this my self.......

Right... there are 2 issues here....

1) XMLTV giving ODD information.
2) Channel identifiers changing in the Dreambox.

I use the Radio Times myself and get some odd issues too. I know for the Radio times I have to create and INITIAL XML file that has NO post processors or fancy bits. Just the channels I want.

Import that 1st and check all the channels work.. Then add the post processors one at a time and test.

As for the cable company move the channels around you have to live with it. And remap the channels.
I know from where I am on VM (ex TW) about 1 channel goes missing a week then have to find it on the DBOX web front end. Select it then look at stream info.

I hope this helps.

Thanks Dave,
What's ODD?

N*L haven't changed channels - every channel is being zapped/recorded incorrectly so something is wrong with how GBPVR zaps the box

I did just do a XMLTV scan without any post processing options

How could I look at what is being sent to the box from GBpvr when I change channels in gbpvr or how can I check the mapping beyween what xmltv gives & what's in gbpvr?

Edit: I think I'll delete all channels and start again with only 6 channels

OK, I deleted all channels and started again - reduced the numkber of channels to 5 and first thing I notice:

- in GB-PVR configuration in tab Capture Sources, if I go to edit recording source for Dboxrecorder Plugin, I can see all 5 channels listed but the source channel number starts at 0 and goes up to 4 for the 5 channels

- If I select the Channels tab I see the 5 channels listed but the channel number begins at 1 and goes to 5

What gives?

I'm not sure of the DB, but for Sky, I put the Sky channel number into the source channel numbers. These normally pick up the channel from the XML import, but the beeb listing don't have that, so they just increment by one each time a channel is added.
The channels tab at the back of config has no relation to the tuning. It just seems to control the order channels are displayed in.

Sorted it - when mapping the channels in the Dboxrecorder plugin, it downloads all channels & hex code from the Dbox - you then have to assign a GB-PVR number to each channel.

I started at 1,2,3,etc - should have started at 0

Voila!

Now can anybody help with recording - I just want the format in MPEG2-TS, the native format for the DBox,Dreambox
