I'm going to be a bit of a globetrotter over the next month, so wont be around as much as normal. I'm here for couple more days and then will out of the country for four of the next five weeks. Two weeks in China/Sydney, followed by a few days back home, followed by two weeks in New York.

I'll be on the forums, but it'll much more sporadically than normal.

This is obviously not great timing with the zap2it termination about to occur, but I've had several people testing the SchedulesDirect service and its gone pretty smoothly, so everything should be ok. I had hoped they would have the service live by now, unfortunately they still a couple of days away.

BTW, they've just enabled sign ups for the first 100 users on Schedules Direct. Be in quick if you want to be in that early access group...

I just made an account and paid, but it doesn't recognize my zip code, and someone beat me to the fourms to say the same. There's no documentation yet, and it looks like it's not quite ready for primetime. You can at least pay and get your spot.

Once they do have things resolved, what do we need to do in GB? I see the new SD in the pulldown for sources, but what beyond that? Will they be compatible w/ our zap2it data if we were using that? Does it require a reload, etc?

LOL that was me. I'm sure it's a temporary glitch.

To switch GB-PVR to your new Schedules Direct account, backup your gbpvr.db3 file, then go in the capture source settings and hit 'empty epg', then change the EPG source to 'Schedules Direct' and enter you email address and password, then hit the 'update epg' button and you should be good to go.

---

If you have multiple lineups, there is one trick your need to be aware of. When setting up the capture source, in the email field you can do the following to get it to use the channels from only one lineup:

name@someplace.com;DISH501:-

This is a semi-colon followed by the lineup code. This lineup code can be seen on the SchedulesDirect website (shown in the URL when you click the 'edit' button on a lineup).

This having to enter the semi-colon + lineup code is bit complex so I'll eventually add some drop down box that shows the list of available lineups downloaded from the user's account, but unfortunately I'm running a bit short on time, and the SchedulesDirect service is a bit late, so cant do this at the moment.

It appears that Tribune's servers (which we have to ping for all of that info) are having trouble at the moment. I can't access any pre-created lineup info, either (same error of "not found"). We've notified them and will let you know when things are resolved.

It's working now, albeit slowly.
