I noticed in my latest EPG update (using whurlston's painless MCE tools) that WTBS changed to WPCH Peachtree TV, and from what I gather this pretty much happened across Canada Oct 1.

This did impact GBPVR because even though the channel number stayed the same GBPVR created a new entry and I found that simply deleting the two channels, emptying the guide, and reimporting it didn't fix it, I add to delete and re-create my analog source.

Although I haven't watched it for a log time, 25 years ago when I got my first "Big Ugly Dish" TBS was actually unique. Now it's just about the cableco's saving money.

Yeah, this can be a bit of a hassle. GB-PVR can only really use the channel name to determine chich channels are which, so when the name changes it assumes is a new channels.

The majority of xmltv files that dont specify the channel number, so this cant really be used to detect this situation occuring.

That should have done it - though you might of had problems if there were recordings still referencing the old channel.

No recordings on this channel. Also based on past experience I think if there had been a recording, recreating the tuner would not have solved my problem.

It's not a problem more a heads up for Canadians until their guides expire, they might not even notice this yet. Even the cable box still says TBS.

I find it ironic that Atlanta, one of the most filthy polluted, crime ridden cities I have ever had the misfortune to visit, names EVERYTHING "PeachTree".

There are at least 4 major streets named Peachtree in Atlanta and it seems that every other mall, business park or funeral home uses the name as well. Meanwhile the trees planted along the boulevards downtown are long dead from air pollution.
