Runing the latest GB-PVR version
no plugins, using xp pro, using the s/pdif on gigabyte p35 ds3l mobo (but the problem exists with analog connection as well)
using avermedia m785 card, with these settings:
http://forums.nextpvr.com/showthread.php...light=m785

The problem (of irritating humming sound on the backround) occurs only while watching live tv or tv recordings.
Tried every possible combination of audio decoders and encoders from the config menu (AC3, powerdvd, nvidia, nero, ffdshow, realtek hd) but non of them helped.
The problem exists even if the audio cable is disconnected from the card.

Thanks

Nothing really springs to mind.

Do you hear the sound if you okay back the recording on another machine?

Do you get the sounds if you playback recordings made with the software that came with the card?

The disturbance remains when Playing back on another machine
I don't have any other video capture software, because non came with the card.
I suspect that the realtek HD audio is to blame, but i didn't see what kind of settings i can edit there in order to fix the problem

If the disturbance remains when Playing back on another machine, then it sounds like something the Avermedia M785 is recording to the stream. There isnt really any settings I can think of that would affect this though.

Could it be a hardware thing, 50 or 60 hz interference from the electrical wires/cable.
AMD Athlon 64 3000, HDD: 80, 120, 200 GB, Hauppauge 350 + 150, MVP, Asus 6000L Laptop client, Asus X50sl client,
Fritz!box 7140 modem/router, GBPVR 1.3.7.

I isolated the computer from all other cables, but still no good.
I contacted AverMedia support, maybe they will have some idea.

1.do you have anything connected other than the arial to the card
have you tried removing the arial and doing a recording it will be blank but if the hum is gone then thats where the noise is coming from
2.check for earthing do other things have noise on them normal tv or just the card
3.use an external source into the card if you can via compisite(rca)
4. throw card away and buy pvr150Smile

1. I'm connected through RCA, but arial gives similar result
2. how can i check for earthing? only the normal tv has this hum, and it happens even if nothing is connected to the card.
3. Am using composite
4. Smile The m785 cost more, and got better reviews here, and now i have to justify the selection, so it gets a few more days of effort before crossing sides.
5. There are no driver's for this card at the avermedia website since it is still classified as "coming soon", So i can use only the single driver my local distributer provided my with.

you need to do a recording with no connections to the video card
this will rule out external sources
