I've had too many problems with the software I used to use to download the XML tv guide here in New Zealand.

So many in fact, that I went ahead and wrote my own.

If anyone is interested, check out http://gbpvr.com/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Utility/Djkxml

Cheers.

Your web site is down http://daves.no-ip.biz !!

I downloaded your software this weekend and I just tried it on my Linux box using wine (needed to download the msvbvm60.dll file first) and it seems to work, but since your web site is down , I can't be sure. It did create an XML file with links to the logo. I will need to create a shell script to replace your .bat files.

Hopefully your site will be back on soon.

Cheers,

Bernard

Hi Bernard,

I've just double checked and I can't find a problem. I have checked it from work and no problem. Is the address daves.no-ip.biz resolving to 203.173.192.143?

BTW: You are the only person who has let me know that you're using it although there have been a resonable amount of downloads.

Also, If anyone is interested, here are the channels that could be added but I only use TV1,2,3 and prime. Therefore I haven't added any others, if you want them added let me know and I'll add them.

Web site now works.

Using wine on Linux I now get this error running djkxml.exe after downloading the GetChannels. In and saving it to GetChannels.Out:

fixme:ntdll:find_reg_tz_info Can't find matching timezone information in the registry for bias -720, std (d/m/y): 18/03/2007, dlt (d/m/y): 30/09/2007

So I guess I will have to use Windows after all! Too bad. I will keep looking for a Linux xmltv software.

Thanks,

Bernard

Bummer. Can you port VB6 script to use in linux as this would be a perfect solution for you as it uses the wget which originally came from linux. Me personally am too used to the whole windows thingy to move off.

The djkxml.exe should read the file GetChannels.out (so long as there is not a djkxmlt.ver file) and dump the output to TVGuide.xml

Hi All, I can see there is a few people trying out this program but only two have been brave enough to admit it. One of which has asked for extra channels which I have added bar two.
To get the update run the GetGuide.BAT
To add the extra channels delete djkxml.cfg and run djkxml.exe

The extra channels are....
Sky 1
Sky Sport 1
Sky Sport 2
Sky Sport 3
Disney Channel
Cartoon Network
Discovery
History Channel
Documentory Channel

Please remember that the amount of data and how accurate it is is dependant on the telstraclear website. Maori TV has bugger all for instance.

If you need a reliable web host I can easily set you up a subdomain on one of my sites if you want. I'm all for supporting the community. Also, if you pm me a little blurb I can add your program to the wiki for EPGs.

cool utility! Smile

Just trying to figure out how to add more channels (without bugging you). So your application is looking at the TelstraClear TV Guide source, in "List"?

Got to ask what does:
"No_of_lines_of_file_to_read_from_the_output_file," mean?

And what is the importance of:
"The_number_of_instances_of_05,"
&
"The_number_of_instances_of_08," ?

Cheers
