Everyone that has an Abit IP35-E motherboard.

Currently when I switch my machine on,
all the fans start for about 4 seconds
It then switches Off, (no speaker beeps)
Switches on and continues normal boot (with a single speaker beep = OK).

Does everyone else get this, as at the moment I have a random BSOD (Blue Screen of Death) and I'm trying to find where the probelm is. As all other motherboards I have had go straight to boot, I'm wondering if the motherboard is the problem?.

In the absence of any diagnostic tools, simplest way is think back to before the problem started happening... any change(s) you have made to the hardware, no matter how small, is usually the cause.

Failling that, it's process of elimination... Remove stuff (floppy disk, cd, tv card, etc) one thing at a time and see if the problem goes away...

Its all new kit, so I don't have a before to compare with, thats why I want to know if anyone else with an IP35-E sees this.

I have started with minimum setup of CPU, 1 stick memory and graphics card and still see it Sad

The basic process of elimination could still be used - if you happen to have a spare dimm, graphics card and PSU. I had a problem with a new board once - it had 4 memory slots (2 pairs of ddr) when I had two dimms properly paired, it failed - if I had one dimm or 1 in each pair, it worked. I got the board replaced.

Looks like it is the memory\motherboard. It isn't detecting the memory correctly and sets it's voltage to 1.8V when it should be 2.1V for this Geil pair I have. I've set manually and no more problems so far - touch wood Smile

Once running I need to check what the memory timings are. They should be 4-4-4-12

I still get the double start when first turned on but no more crashing now.

Does anyone else get the double start for the IP35-E, it doesn't seem to be a problem just annoying (I'm wondering if there is anything I need to set in the BIOS?).
