I'm now using Qwest IPTV which the Reciever controls the Channels. When i try to record something all i get is static... I hope someone has a setup like this

TV1 is set to channel 6
TV2 is set to channel 7
TV3 (PVR) is set to channel 13..but i want it like it was where it's could pick up the channels on it' own.

If you cable doesnt carry analog channels that can be tuned directly, then you have to use the set top box with svideo/composite/rf connected to the analog side of your capture card.

Are you trying to tune in directly from the source cable, or are you connected to the output of a set top box?

You're big on providing details Big Grin

If they're not supplying any analog channels, then all you're going receive is static on an analog card. Try running the tunning assistant to see if there is any analog channels.

I don't think it will work but you can try scanning with the HVR-1600 in QAM mode. If I understand Qwests IPTV correctly, it will only send the channel that you tune on the IPTV receiver.

They make tons of digital cards, and your HVR-1600 is one of them, but IPTV is a different beast. Its more like a set top box that runs the equivalent of Windows Media Player which is streaming video from a website. The exact details of how this is done varies between IPTV networks, but its usually not possible to directly record these streams.

Some IPTV networks do carry regular channels though, either analog or digital (QAM etc), but I dont know anything about Qwest so couldnt tell you what they do.
