I've got a skystar 2 with BDA driver connected to ASTRA 1 19.2E here in Europe.
I get most channels scanned OK with GBPVR but the EPG is empty. I can see from other posts that this can bit a tricky problem needing 200MB ts files.

Rather than tying up SUB's time up for probably a stupid problem, i was wondering has anyone got DVB EPG on 19.2 working ok? and what can i do to debug myself?

I was gonna use TSReader but that don't work with the BDA driver.
i can use DVB dream to capture a ts stream and some MPEG analyser i just downloaded.

Since this is quite a common problem, could someone provide some tips on what to be looking for in the ts stream?

Its a bit hard to describe what to look for (and time consuming).

If you hit the 'update epg' button in the config app, then zip and attach the config.exe.log and config.exe-native.log, then I'll look for a couple of common things that can be wrong.

When I ask people for a transport stream file, its usually so I can run it through the debugger here with GB-PVR so I can work out what it doesnt like in the stream. Its not really the sort of thing you could do there.

I will connect to SKY and try with normal UK channels like BBC to see if that works. I'm presently connected to 19.2 and had to "play around" a little with the database to make things work nicely and want to eliminate that as a source of my problem.

log files attached if its something obvious.

thanks

I decided to re-install GBPVR as i was having a hard time getting the bda source saved. The card is coming up as a Technisat DVB-PC TV Star PCI (BDA), The default bda.ini has this as ATSC, i changed this to DVB-S. To reduce time, i changed the 282.ini file just to have one transponder, 10714 for some ITV channels.

I scanned amd mapped just one channel. I can see the video, but there is a message on the screen "no signal detected" even though the video is there. screnshot in the zip file.
No EPG info is displayed.

Everything looks ok in the logs. It may just be that this satellite service does not uses the normal DVB EIT system for its listings. There are a few other EPG systems in use in Europe, none of which GB-PVR is compatible with.

I'd probably need that 200MB-ish transport stream file to look any closer at this one.
