Ok, First of all, thank you for putting out a program that does most of what TIVO does without having to constantly shell out a ton of cash. Second - and MOST important - while I consider myself fairly bright, I have no clue what to do here. In a nutshell, I discovered via browsing the internet an article on how to assemble a PVR without having the cost of building a dedicated PC to record my favorite shows. I currently use TIVO but I'm getting sick and tired of the damned thing acting as if it has a mind of it's own. As such, I went and bought a WinTV-PVR USB2 as well as a WMVP (wireless) - all for less then $200 total. Sofar so good. I set up the entire system and was even able to somehow download my 1st sample TV recording that I made through Windows XP Media Center. The image was a bit grainy but I think it had more to do with the quality in which I recorded the show then the setup I have. My question actually is how do I set up GB-PVR? I downloaded all the requirements but don't have a clue as to how to configure the program so that I can access it through my TV - as the article stated I could. I tried finding the "wiki" for setting up but when I clicked on the shortcut, I got a host of error messages. If you have a step by step instruction manual, I'd love to read it. If not, can someone out there help me? I know you probably get a million requests like this a day, so I apoligise in advance for how stupid this must look. Please help. Thanks!

1st, welcome to the gbpvr-forum. The Wiki indeed is the right place to go, I clicked the shortcut and it works for me.Smile Maybe it was down a short moment. I suggest you try the wiki again and after that if you still have questions, come back here. This is probably the friendliest forum on the net with the friendliest and quickest administrator (Sub). So don't hesitate to ask anything.

Welcome to the board!

Firstly install the requirements listed here

The install GBPVR - IIRC you are presented with the config application, where you set up your capture sources etc

The quickstart guide in from the wiki is here

for those so keen on acronyms, get this: SSDSDSSWEMUGABRTLAD
what the f%$K is this? for the german speaking posters: "Stefan sucht den Superstar, der singen soll, was er möchte und gerne auch bei RTL auftreten darf"
it's about an german show which has a rather silly (but still the same in terms of quality achieved far superior) casting counterpart to the "german idol" (which got it's own acronym, DSDS "Deutschland sucht den Superstar")
