I just came across the XSuite and there is much I like about it but one thing drives me crazy. Along the bottom of the displays for XRecord and XSearch it shows functions that can be performed by pressing the colored buttons on a Hauppauge remote.

It would be much better if these functions were listed from left to right in the same order that the colored buttons appear on the remote control. (See Video Archive for a sample of how this should be done.)

Is there a way I can "fix" this with the skin?

If you open up the skin files you should be able to move the buttons and supporting text to any location that you want.

Thanks. I'll try that.

A quick question. I notice that under the GBPVR directory there is a SKIN and SKIN2 subdirectory. I had assumed that SKIN2 was for PVRX2 (which I use rather than GBPVR) but that doesn't seem to be the case since the XSuite skins appear under the SKIN subdirectory.

Can you tell me what is the difference between these two subdirectories of skins?

All the new stuff looks in Skin2. The old application and old plugins (that might be running in compatibility mode in PVRX2) look in the old Skin directory.

Oh yes, yeas yes, a wee bugbear of my own too! Can I ask for this to be a feature request .... ? Or a setting you can make in Config (e.g. Swap remote button order?)

Maybe LewE can post his modified skin so I can incorporate the changes into the release package.

I'm glad to contribute in my own small way.

In addition to re-ordering the "buttons", I added the RED button to the legend at the bottom of the display. I wasn't sure whether the original directory included the red.png file so I included it in the zip I am uploading.

Another change I wanted to make was to have the "Item x/y Continued" message at the bottom of the display appear lower so it isn't so close to the legend above it. Unfortunately, it wasn't apparent what to edit to make that change. I'll leave that to someone else to "contribute".

There's a new version on the wiki that includes your change. I renamed the "Pending" to "Recent" because it's the RecentRecordingsPopup. I also lowered the "Stats" and "ContinuationText" a little. Thanks for posting it.
