Hello

After a lot of testing of this kind of programs both for Linux ( preffered ) and windows i choosed this one

Why isnt neccessary to tell right now

But after a while i started to customize the installation to fit my needs

So right now i have a config like this:

All music, videos and pictures are stored in a linux server

Viewing of tv,video and others is done from a computer
beside my tv
I also view tv (streaming) and listen to music on my office computer
in the same house as the server and the other computer

I am using the latest versions ( not BETA)
So thats the background

What i want to do is to easily add different playlists
to the system.
Thats when i installed this plugin

I am using GBPVR and not PVRX2

It worked fine and listening to music was ok

BUT!!

When i tried to add a playlist it doesnt work
Songs dissapears.Playlists shows empty and
i cant figure out how to add songs to the playlist
without having to listen to them

Every time i add a song to the que it starts to play it?

So i got tired of trying and tried to add a m3u list to it
instead.

But the list shows up in the playlist EMPTY!!

So back to start again

Reinstalled
Remade the config and tried again

Same thing happens

I have been reading and searching all over this forum but
mostly came up with nothing or a few things that
didnt work.

So i am ready to leave this project and move on

But first i want you to get a chance to help out here

One thing i miss in this project is a complete manual
that covers all from installtion to a ready to go system

As it is now users have to search and read for a long time to
get some answers
Whats needed is an installation manual with everything covered
or a well written FAQ on every plugin

Is there anyone that can come up with information about
how playlists work and how to add M3U files?

Taken from the beginning just after the installtion on this
plugin is done?

Thanks in advance

I'm sure you will get the help you need, when you've solved your problems you are very welcome to write the help files you are missing now.Wink

Btw, did you find the wiki? I guess you did, but anyway: http://gbpvr.com/pmwiki/pmwiki.php

What musicplugin are you using? You might want to post your problem in the support-thread of the plugin.

Sorry my mistake.
The developer of ML2 is from NZ, it migh take a while before he sees this.
I know there have beem problems with playlists before. It might have to do with using relative or absolute paths in the playlist (well, that's what I remember)

This is how the m3u list looks like

Quote:#EXTM3U
#EXTINF:0,Agnetha & Linda - När Juldagsmorgon Glimmar.mp3
\\192.168.x.xxx\mythtv\ljud\Agnetha & Linda - När Juldagsmorgon Glimmar.mp3

#EXTINF:0,Julklockor över vår jord.MP3
\\192.168.x.xxx\mythtv\ljud\Julklockor över vår jord.MP3

#EXTINF:0,Ainbusk & Nordman - En Julsaga.mp3
\\192.168.x.xxx\mythtv\ljud\Ainbusk & Nordman - En Julsaga.mp3

#EXTINF:0,magnus_johansson-hej_mitt_vinterland.mp3
\\192.168.x.xxx\mythtv\ljud\magnus_johansson-hej_mitt_vinterland.mp3

Its url paths all the way

Going to check how a playlist looks like in ML2

for VMR9?

I am trying to get it to run on my laptop also

But this is the basic system not only ML2

I installed directx9 because i thought it was that

But i get the error even after the installation

Maybe it has something to do with user permissions. If you run the recordingservice under a local systemaccount (default) you could have trouble accessing a networked drive.

wrt vmr9, that is the required vido-renderer for PVRX2. It's possible that your video-card doesn't support it. GBPVR can run with vmr7 or overlay but it isn't developed anyfurther.

I agree with htv, first I'd check permissions. What normally needs to be done for a windows installation, is that the gbpvr recording server is running under a user account with network permissions (it installs under "Local Service" which is not able to access the network).

Second, I'm not sure I've every seen a playlist before with urls. They may work, but if i haven't seen it, then it hasn't been tested, and therefore cannotbe guaranteed to work.
