Hi,

Apologies in advance if im posting to the wrong section - or seem too ignorant.

Ive tried to find some docs (e.g. a how to setup web admin ) on how exactly to get the web admin up and running.

I mean GBPVR is all installed (and running nicely i might add) - and the web server tick box is enabled for whatever the default port is.

However i havent been able to find any docs as to how to acutally connect to the web admin. i.e. URL etc ... ive tried http://media:portnumber - where portnumber is the one listed on the misc tab of gbpvr - however that was no go.

Does a web server have to be installed - or is the gbpvr have one embeded? (actually ive tried on both with/without a webserver installed to no avail).

I have also - as ive read somewhere - basically dumped the web directory (when unzipped from enhanced web admin) over the top of the existing web directory. but no diff there either.

I get the impression that im missing something - tho im stuffed if i know what.

Some guidance would be appreciated if possible.

Many Thanks in advance.

If you have the webserver box ticked it should work.
You can try on the system itself with: http://localhost:7647/gbpvr/guide.aspx
Or on a lan: http://xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx:7647/gbpvr/guide.aspx
where xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx is the lan ip-adres of the server.
or from the internet with:
http://yyy.yyy.yyy.yyy:7647/gbpvr/guide.aspx
where yyy.yyy.yyy.yyy is your internet ip-adres.
If you use a router you have to forward your ports to the server.
Don't forget to open your firewall(s) if necessary.
There's also info here: http://gbpvr.com/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Utili...edWebAdmin

The wiki should supply the necessary configuration information if you are using what ships with the current release of GBPVR. If you are upgrading to a newere build of EWA then you can follow the installation instructions that are on the wiki as well.

Let me know if this doesn't help or how you make out.

Cheers.

I am too having issues accessing the EWA from outside my network. I setup a URL with Dyndns.org, forwarded my router ports, tested the ports on http://www.canyouseeme.org/ to make sure the ports were open, and I still can't access the EWA using my DYNDNS address of choice.

I have tried http://localhost:7647/gbpvr/guide.aspx and lan: http://xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx:7647/gbpvr/guide.aspx where xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx is the lan ip-adress of the server. No issues, everything works perfectly as expected.

And from outside my LAN using:
http://yyy.yyy.yyy.yyy:7647/gbpvr/guide.aspx where yyy.yyy.yyy.yyy is my internet ip-adress or dyndns url name, I have no luck. Nada.

Any words of wisdom as to what I am doing wrong?

Make sure your windows firewall is off or you have entered ports 7647 and 7648 (streaming port) into the windows firewall.

Ppsychling - what is your Internet connection setup? I had a similar problem and it turned out to be my DSL modem - it was configured as a router as well and changing it to a bridge allowed port forwarding to work.

kylebrophy - Did you get web admin working?

UncleJohnsBand,

I entered ports 7647 & 7648 into the windows firewall and it's still a no go.

I also entered 7647 + 7468 ports into the Router settings for port forwarding. Please see the link below to see my GBPVR computer setup parameters.

What happens when you try to access from outside....anything?

Are you trying to access from work, friends or from within your own network using your external address?

I know some routers have trouble entering an external address that ends up looping back into the network originating the request (loopback).

Actually, I haven't tried to access my network from work or friends, and just as you mentioned I am trying to access my network from within using my external dyndns address.

If you PM me your external address I can see if I can access it....don't need the pasword or anything....just the address. This would rule out the loopback issue I mentioned above (or rule it in)......
