Accessing TV Devices via C#

Hi All, not so much a plugin question here, rather a general development question. I'm playing around with controlling Digital BDA devices in C# (Windows) and was wondering whether GBPVR used DirectShow or the VideoControl and whether DirectShow has advantages over the VideoControl.

Obviously you are closer to the metal with DirectShow and have better control, but the VideoControl is a lot easier to use

GB-PVR uses Directshow. I've never really bothered looking into the VideoControl in much detail, but it didnt look like it would have given me the flexibility I wanted.

Yah, I've gone down the component wrapper route before and have often found exactly that - eventually I need to do something it won't allow me to do.
